Hot Towel Machine Showdown: Amazon Gold vs Temu Black (The Truth After 1 Year)

Running a salon taught me something valuable: money is made in the details. And one of those details that changed my business? A hot towel machine.

The YouTube Secret About Gold Color

Last year, I bought a gold-colored hot towel machine from Amazon for $99.99. Why gold specifically? I watched a YouTube video that said, “Gold color gives clients a premium salon feeling.” And honestly? That video was absolutely right!

The Perfect Fit for My Small Salon

My salon isn’t huge, but tiny small salon. This Amazon gold machine fit perfectly into my space. I can comfortably hold eight standard salon shampoo towels inside it. It doesn’t waste space, it works flawlessly, and when clients see that shining gold color, they immediately get the vibe: “Wow, this is a premium salon.”

The Temu Machine: A One-Year Battle

But to tell you the real story, I need to take you back to my past. I used to have a black hot towel machine from Temu. The price was unbeatable—just $48.11. It was compact and could hold about six salon towels. In the beginning, it worked great. I actually thought, “Hey, maybe Temu products aren’t so bad after all?”

Eleven Months Later

Then something  happened at month eleven. Rust started appearing inside the machine. Not just a little bit—it spread everywhere. And here’s where it gets really bad: my white towels, the ones I use on clients’ faces, started turning dark yellow. Can you imagine? I’m literally putting discolored towels on people’s faces! It was a disaster.

Technically, the machine still heats up fine. But visually? It’s a mess. And the towel staining issue? That’s completely unacceptable in a professional salon.

 The Temu Machine (Smart Move)

Here’s what I learned: you don’t have to throw away Temu products when they fail. I repurposed that rusty machine as a hot stone warmer. Instead of wet heating towels, I now use it to warm massage stones. And guess what? It’s perfect for that! The rust doesn’t matter anymore, and the machine gets a second life.

Can You Really Trust Temu Products?

Let me be completely honest with you: Temu product quality is not trustworthy. But that doesn’t mean all Temu products are worthless. When you’re paying such an incredibly low price, you need to adjust your expectations accordingly.

Here’s the game-changer: Temu’s 90-day return policy. From the day you purchase, you have 90 days to return any item. If a product disappoints you, you can send it back. This policy completely changes the game. It means you can take risks on Temu products without losing money.

The Final Verdict: Amazon Gold vs Temu Black

Amazon Gold Machine: After one year, it’s still perfect. No rust, no staining, no problems. It gives off that premium vibe that makes clients feel special. Yes, it costs more, but the investment pays off in durability and professional image.

Temu Black Machine: It’s cheap, and that’s its biggest advantage. But don’t expect it to last more than a year without issues. The quality simply isn’t there. However, it’s worth trying for the price. Just remember it will arrive at your place in approximately 2 weeks.

My Personal Recommendation

If you’re just starting your salon or running on a tight budget, grab the Temu machine and test it out. You have 90 days to decide. If it fails before then, return it. But if you’re looking for something that will serve you professionally for years, invest in the Amazon gold machine or white color.  Your clients will notice, and your towels will thank you
